Ura-gatame
Ura-gatame is a reverse hold in which Tori controls Uke from a back-to-chest or reverse-facing position, secures an arm and a leg or hip line, and keeps Uke's back and shoulders pinned beneath the torso.

Movement sequence
- Position your back or side across Uke's upper body while staying close to the shoulder line.
- Secure one of Uke's arms and control the far leg, hip, or jacket to prevent rotation.
- Lower the hips and widen the base so Uke cannot turn onto the stomach.
- Keep the pressure responsive rather than rigid, protect Uke's face and breathing, and release when Mate is called.
