Ude-hishigi-ashi-gatame
Ude-hishigi-ashi-gatame is a leg arm lock. Tori isolates Uke's straight arm, hooks or presses it with a leg, and uses the leg and body position to extend the elbow while controlling the wrist and shoulder.

Movement sequence
- Control Uke's wrist and keep the shoulder from rotating away.
- Place your leg over or against the upper arm so the elbow is aligned against the leg as a fulcrum.
- Extend the joint through a small body adjustment, never a kick, and release immediately at the tap.
- Apply only under qualified supervision, increase pressure gradually, and release immediately when Uke taps.
Safety and training context
