Ko-uchi-gaeshi
Ko-uchi-gaeshi counters ko-uchi-gari as a hand technique. Tori slips the attacked leg free so Uke's inner reap passes through empty space, then immediately turns left with the grips to throw Uke across the open diagonal.

Movement sequence
- Feel Uke load and enter for ko-uchi-gari, then remove weight from the attacked foot.
- Slip the attacked leg completely clear; do not add a counter-reap or hook.
- Turn left immediately with the lapel-and-sleeve grips while Uke's attacking leg is still extended.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
Safety and training context
