Nami-juji-jime

Nami-juji-jime is a normal cross strangle. Tori crosses the wrists and grips both collars with the thumbs inside and palms down, then brings the collar edges against the sides of Uke's neck with controlled pressure.

Movement sequence

  1. Cross the wrists and take deep collar grips with both thumbs inside and palms facing down.
  2. Keep the forearms aligned along the sides of Uke's neck and remove jacket slack.
  3. Bring the elbows toward a compact finishing position without jerking, and release immediately at the tap.
  4. Apply only under qualified supervision, monitor Uke continuously, and release immediately when Uke taps.
