Okuri-eri-jime

Okuri-eri-jime is a sliding collar strangle applied from behind. One hand feeds deep across Uke's neck into the far collar while the other controls the opposite lapel below the armpit; the hands then move in opposing directions to tighten the collar around the neck.

  2. Use the second hand below Uke's armpit to grip and remove slack from the opposite lapel.
  3. Draw the upper hand back and the lower hand down while keeping your chest connected, then release at the tap.
  4. Apply only under qualified supervision, monitor Uke continuously, and release immediately when Uke taps.
