O-soto-otoshi
O-soto-otoshi is a major outer drop. Tori breaks Uke's balance backward, places the attacking leg behind Uke's leg, and drops the body weight down the line of Uke's thigh rather than swinging through with a full reap.

Movement sequence
- Load Uke onto the rear of the leg you will attack and step close outside it.
- Place your attacking leg behind Uke's thigh with close upper-body contact.
- Sink your weight and drive the hands backward and down as the leg slides along Uke's support.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
Safety and training context
Use this page to prepare for coached practice, not as a substitute for instruction. Throws, locks, and strangles require appropriate experience, a qualified partner, safe matting, and direct supervision.
