O-uchi-gaeshi
O-uchi-gaeshi counters o-uchi-gari. Tori lightens the attacked leg, catches or reaps Uke's attacking leg with it, and turns Uke backward or sideways while Uke is committed to the inner reap.

Movement sequence
- Keep balance as Uke circles in for o-uchi-gari and remove weight from the attacked leg.
- Use that leg to hook, lift, or reap Uke's attacking leg as it passes.
- Turn Uke's upper body toward the exposed rear corner with coordinated hand control.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
Safety and training context
