O-uchi-gari
O-uchi-gari is a major inner reap. Tori breaks Uke's balance backward, steps deeply between the legs, and reaps the inside of Uke's weighted leg in a broad circular action while maintaining forward body pressure.

Movement sequence
- Drive Uke's weight toward the rear of the leg you will reap while keeping close upper-body contact.
- Enter deeply and circle your reaping leg around the inside of Uke's supporting leg.
- Reap the leg backward as your torso and grips continue to direct Uke backward and down.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
Safety and training context
