Seoi-nage
Seoi-nage is a shoulder throw. Tori breaks Uke's balance forward, inserts the lapel-side elbow beneath Uke's armpit, turns the back close under Uke's chest, and throws by extending the legs and rotating forward.

Movement sequence
- Lift and pull Uke forward until the weight moves onto the toes.
- Turn under the lapel-side arm, fit your elbow beneath Uke's armpit, and connect your back to Uke.
- Extend from the legs and rotate the shoulders forward and down while maintaining sleeve control.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
