Soto-makikomi
Soto-makikomi is an outer wraparound throw. Tori breaks Uke's balance forward, traps Uke's arm against the armpit, turns deeply across Uke, and wraps Uke around the torso while falling to the side.

Movement sequence
- Draw Uke forward and secure the near arm tightly beneath your armpit.
- Turn the hip and shoulder line across Uke so there is no space between the bodies.
- Continue the rotation into a controlled side fall, keeping your weight from landing directly on Uke's ribs.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
