Sumi-otoshi
Sumi-otoshi is a corner drop. Tori breaks Uke's balance toward a rear corner by stepping outside the corresponding foot and using the hands and body line to push Uke into the space behind that corner.

Movement sequence
- Draw a reaction, then step outside Uke's foot while keeping your posture tall and connected.
- Shift Uke's center past the rear corner with coordinated sleeve and lapel control.
- Continue the hand action downward as Uke loses the support, without inserting a blocking leg.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
