Tsukkomi-jime

Tsukkomi-jime is a thrusting collar strangle. Facing Uke, Tori controls one lapel with the support hand and drives the other collar grip toward the side of Uke's neck so the lapel and forearm form the choking surface.

Movement sequence

  1. Control the opposite lapel to remove slack and stabilize Uke's upper body.
  2. Take a firm grip on the choking-side collar and align the wrist and forearm beside the neck.
  3. Thrust and draw the two grips in opposing directions gradually, releasing immediately when Uke taps.
  4. Apply only under qualified supervision, monitor Uke continuously, and release immediately when Uke taps.
