Ura-nage
Ura-nage is a rear sacrifice throw used as a counter. Tori closes around Uke's torso from the side or rear, lifts Uke by extending the legs and hips, and falls backward while turning Uke over the shoulder to a controlled landing.

Movement sequence
- Lower your center beneath Uke's attack and secure the torso without compressing the spine.
- Lift with the legs and hips while keeping Uke close to your chest.
- Commit to the rear sacrifice and turn Uke over one shoulder, maintaining control instead of bridging onto the head.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
