Yama-arashi
Yama-arashi combines a distinctive same-side collar-and-sleeve grip with forward off-balance and a sweeping leg action. Tori lifts Uke forward, turns across the body, and sweeps Uke's leg while rotating the upper body down.

Movement sequence
- Take the characteristic same-side collar grip with the thumb inside and control the matching sleeve.
- Lift Uke forward and turn across with close upper-body connection.
- Sweep Uke's leg upward as the grips rotate Uke forward and down in one continuous action.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
