Yoko-wakare
Yoko-wakare is a side separation throw. Tori breaks Uke's balance forward, places the body crosswise in front of Uke while falling to the side, and pulls Uke over the torso without using a leg reap.

Movement sequence
- Draw Uke forward and step both feet outside Uke's leading line.
- Turn crosswise and lower your body to the side in front of Uke without colliding with the knees.
- Continue the forward pull so Uke rotates over your torso to a controlled landing.
- Maintain the controlling grip, guide Uke to a safe landing, and practise the action under qualified supervision.
